HMRC to contact around 5m taxpayers regarding under or over paid tax for 2012/13
HMRC have begun their review of personal tax liabilities for 2012/13, and estimate that up to 5m people may have paid an incorrect amount of tax.
This mostly affects people who are taxed under paye and have either more than one job, or are in employment and also receive a pension.
HMRC will collect most underpayments through paye coding notices. If you have overpaid tax then HMRC will refund this by cheque, starting from June.
If you do receive a tax calculation that you think is incorrect, then please contact me.
